DAY 1 I LISBON
Arrive in Lisbon Airport and be greeted by your Central Holidays tour director for transfer to your hotel. Spread across picturesque hillsides that overlook the River Tejo, Lisbon offers a myriad of delights as Portugal's star attraction, yet with a fraction of the fuss of other European capitals. Cathedrals, regal monasteries, and charming museums are all part of the colorful cityscape, but the real delights of discovery lie in its people, touring its sites, and Lisbon's lovely and oldworld backstreets. Your welcome dinner is at a local restaurant tonight, offering you the opportunity to embrace the wines and gastronomy of Southern Portugal. (D)

DAY 2 I LISBON I SINTRA I ROCA CAPE I LISBON
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a guided tour of Lisbon, including the opportunity to explore the city center, the old quarter of Alfama, as well as the Belem quarter and its monuments including Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries. The Jeronimos Monastery, built in the 16th century, is an extraordinary magnanimous monument, also classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the most prominent examples of the Portuguese Late Gothic Manueline architecture. Our tour will end with a stop at the delicious "Pasteis de Belem" pastery, produced since 1837. Here we learn how it is made followed by a tasting. Time at leisure for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue to stunning Sintra blessed with natural beauty, explore the best preserved medieval Royal Palace in Portugal and part of the Cultural Landscape. Afterwards the westernmost point of Portugal will be waiting for us, the Roca Cape, an edge between land and ocean drawing a breath taking landscape. Late afternoon return to Lisbon. En-route you will be able to appreciate the scenery along the coast, passing through the towns of Cascais and Estoril. Overnight in Lisbon. (B)

DAY 3 I LISBON I PONTA DA PIEDADE I ALVOR
Morning departure for Algarve crossing the River Tagus to the southern coast of Portugal. The Algarve has the call of the sea that led to the discovery of the New World. Stop in Ponta da Piedade and admire the magnificent view over the Atlantic Ocean, and cliffs whose shapes have been sculpted by the erosive action of both the sea and time. Upon arrival in Lagos visit the fishing port followed by a traditional Algarve lunch, such as fresh fish and shellfish cooked in a copper pan (cataplana) - never forgetting the fine sweets such as the famous marzipans, almond, and fig cakes. In the afternoon time at leisure before checking in at your hotel. (B,L)

DAY 4 I AGRES I CABO DE S. VICENTE I LAGOS I ALVOR
Today we explore the southern coast of Algarve and the most southwestern point in Europe on the Atlantic. Our first stop Sagres, a fishing port, for a visit to the fortress that was the mythical "navigation school" forever linked with the presence of Prince Henry the Navigator during the first days of Atlantic navigation and the discovery of the African coast. Proceeding along the cliffs to Cabo Sao Vincente, the most southwestern point in Europe. Return to the hotel, where, the afternoon is at leisure. You may take advantage of local resort activities (pool, spa, golf). Dinner tonight is at your hotel. (B,D)

DAY 5 I ALGARVE I EVORA
Morning departure for Evora, the capital of Portugal's south-central Alentejo region. Explore and learn about local specialties produced in the region including famous Alentejo wines. Visit a local winery followed by a wine tasting & lunch. In the afternoon we explore EJvora with the town's massive walls and Roman Temple, early Gothic Cathedral, and Sao Francisco Church that is famous for its Ossuary chapel, whose walls are decorated with thousands of human bones and skulls. Check in at your hotel, evening at leisure. (B,L)

DAY 6 I EVORA
Today we experience one of the local markets to prepare for our cooking class. Upon arrival we meet our local chef for a private cooking class session to learn about the secrets of local traditional cuisine all still processed in Terracotta pottery and dishes called "Barro". The outcome of your cooking class session will be a delicious homemade Portuguese lunch. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Fado show dinner as part of our Cultural and culinary experience. Fado, "Destiny or "fate," is the urban folk music of Portugal. It thrives today in the country's bars, taverns, and Fado houses for everyone to relish as a global melodic symbol of Portuguese culture and traditions. (B,L,D)

DAY 7 I LISBON TO USA
Morning departure for Lisbon airport, or extend your stay to Spain or Northern Portugal. (B)
