DAY 1 I PARIS I CAEN
Arrival in Paris airport. Meet your guide and head towards Normandy. On the way we will visit Monet's House in Giverny. Arrival in Caen for a short panoramic tour. Founded circa 1060, discover one of the largest fortified enclosures in Europe, a reminder of the great upheavals in the history of France, in particular the 100 Years War and the Revolution. Discover the relics of the Duke-King's palace and the keep, the Church of St. George or the Exchequer room, the forerunner of our modern financial institutions, and a rare example of Romanesque civil architecture. Check in to your hotel.

DAY 2 I CAEN I D DAY BEACHES I CAEN
A discovery tour of the history filled 1944 landing sites supplies the added perk of immersion into the rich heritage and culture of France, and specifically Normandy. Your tour visits Omaha beach and concludes at the American cemetery in Colleville: a site of over 170 acres housing 9387 tombs and a wall of the missing. This unforgettable stop, inspiring respect and somber reflection, rounds out your trip of the D Day Beaches US sector. Then, you'll head to the Pointe du Hoc, a stunning place of natural beauty scarred by heavy aerial and naval bombardment. From there you'll proceed through Ste Marie du Mont, taking note of the picturesque church, before stopping in Angouville au Plain where Kenneth Moore and Robert Wight set up a military medical aid station helping both civilians and soldiers. The tour will end at Sainte Mere Eglise: a typical Norman village, the early capture of which played a pivotal role in the outcome of June 6th, 1944 and the visit of the Airborne's Museum. If you wish, your guide can slip in a stop to the "Biscuiterie" to sample their traditionally prepared cookies. (B)

DAY 3 I CAEN I MONT ST MICHEL I SAINT-MALO

The Benedictine Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the most remarkable examples of medieval religious and military architecture and was one of Christianity's most important pilgrimage sites from the 8th to the 18th century. Situated in the middle of a bay, Mont saint-Michel welcomes nearly two and a half million people every year. At the entrance of this medieval town is the ancient Burgher's Guardroom now the Tourist Office. After going through the Boulevard Gate and then the King's Gate fortified with its portcullis, you will find the Grande Rue with its museums, shops and houses dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. The parish church consecrated to St- Pierre, the patron saint of fishermen is a small edifice from the 15th and 16th centuries. Finally we get to the Grande Degre whose majesty is a prelude to the Marvel. After admiring the Abbey church, you can enjoy the beautiful and matchless view over the bay when going down the ramparts path. Today you will have an included lunch with Normandy specialties and in particular the lamb of the Mont-Saint-Michel. Then, along the bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel, you will make a stop in Cancale. A famous small harbor with the specialty of the oyster. Taste them facing the sea and on the way to Saint-Malo - check in to the hotel. Evening walking tour to discover the Corsair city of Saint-Malo and the magnificent bay. (B,L)

DAY 4 I SAINT-MALO I LE MANS I CHENONCEAUX I AMBOISE
We will make a stop in Le Mans for a city tour. Labeled the "City of Art and History", Le Mans conceals in his heart a hidden gem: the Plantagenet City. Twenty hectares of cobbled streets, inhabited homes in pan-de-bois and Renaissance hotels, sheltered by a Roman wall and overhung by a cathedral. Saint -Julien cathedral, mi Romanesque, mi Gothic, is also one of the largest in France. Then on the way to one of the most magnificent castle Chenonceaux. Arrival in Amboise and check in to the hotel. (B)

DAY 5 I AMBOISE

We spend the day in Amboise today. The first visit is for Le Clos Luce, home of Leonardo da Vinci. King Francis I, passionate by Leonardo da Vinci's talent, names him "Premier Painter and Engineer and Architect of the King" and offers him the enjoyment of the Chateau of Clos Luce, located only a few meters away from the Chateau d'Amboise. In the afternoon cruise on a traditional boat of the "Loire River". It is time to taste the wine and the biscuit of Tourraine area. (B)

DAY 6 I AMBOISE I CHAMBORD I BLOIS I AMBOISE
First visit today is the castle of Chambord, the most well-known chateau. Enter a world out of the ordinary, permeated with mystery, thanks to the unique architecture imagined for the glory of Francis 1st with the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci hovering over. After walking around the garden, depart for Blois to see another kind of castle. Classified as a historic monument since 1845, the royal chateau of Blois presents a magnificent panorama of the art and history of the castles of the Loire. Surrounding the court, its four wings constitute a unique example of the development of French architecture from the 13th through the 17th century. With its multitude of styles, the edifice evokes the destiny of 7 kings and 10 queens of France. Some free time for shopping and return to your hotel to dress up for a special farewell dinner in a chateau. (B,D)

DAY 7 I AMBOISE TO USA
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
